"abstract": "The surgical intensive care unit (SICU) is a special part of the hospital where very sick or badly hurt patients go to get strong medical care. Doctors and nurses watch these patients closely all the time and use special machines and treatments to help them survive and heal. When someone you love is in the SICU, it can be a very hard and stressful time. It’s not just tough for the patient, it can also be very hard on families and caregivers. That’s why it’s important to understand how this experience can affect them too.",
