  "abstract": "An adult construction worker was working on the second story of a construction site and fell backwards onto exposed rebar sustaining multiple impalements ( figure 1). A prolonged extrication was required to cut the rebar to free the patient from the structure and air transport took approximately 45 min to our level I trauma center. On arrival, the patient was noted to have been impaled by two separate pieces of rebar, one through the right neck and the left chest, and one entering and exiting the left upper arm.",
