  "abstract": "Emerging nicotine products are integrating vaping with gamified, reward-based digital ecosystems (such as video games, puff-based rewards and app-based features), marking a shift in how nicotine use is structured and incentivised.1 2 Web3 is one form of digital ecosystem built on blockchain technology and digital tokens, enabling users to hold and control their own accounts and rewards. Puffpaw’s ‘Gen2 Pro’ (https://gen2pro.puffpaw.xyz/gen2pro) integrates these features into a Web3-enabled ‘Vape-to-Earn’ system linked to vaping behaviour, appearing to be an early example of this model (figure 1). The device records metrics including puff count, duration and nicotine level which are used to calculate rewards through the companion application (figure 2).3",
