These symptoms, combined with the implications of living with a potentially fatal condition even when symptoms are well controlled, can also cause anxiety for many patients—with recent meta-analytical estimates from over 50 000 patients reporting a pooled prevalence of anxiety symptoms in 32% of people with asthma.1",
