  "abstract": "Introduction Asthma diagnosis and management are evolving with the introduction of the BTS/NICE guidelines (2024) and the Asthma Capability Framework. There are inconsistencies across NHS paediatric physiotherapists in assessment and treatment of asthma and the nuanced analysis of respiratory symptoms. 1 This creates disparity in service provision at the detriment of patient outcome. To improve care for children and young people (CYP) across the NHS, there is a pressing need for national data collection and the development of consistent, evidence-based physiotherapy services.The aim of this project was to design a standardised assessment and supporting educational package for physiotherapists working in paediatric asthma and dysfunctional breathing (DB) services.Methods Figure 1. depicts the development and dissemination process.Results Kids’ Cornerstone Collaborative (KCC), a group of national physiotherapy specialists in paediatric asthma care, was created with the aim of developing staff, promoting consistent care across the NHS, and initiating broader collaborations and comprehensive big data collection.An evidence-based physiotherapy assessment pack was developed which includes:Implementation playbook to support sites to embed the assessment in their clinical servicesPaediatric asthma and DB interactive assessment proforma in word, PDF, and Microsoft Forms versionsPaediatric asthma and DB assessment supplementary education documentCompetencies document to guide the development of physiotherapists - NHS band 5 to 8Intellectual property agreements were created across inventor NHS sites to enable free access and use of the resources created. An implementation pilot was conducted across three regional sites, with problem-based iterative adaptations throughout, supporting the refinement of Theory of Change (TOC) model. Disseminated nationally via clinical interest groups and national conferences.52 secondary and tertiary care NHS Trusts spanning all UK regions requested access to this resource package; 25 completed a user agreement and have received the assessment package.Abstract P146 Figure 1Project flow diagramConclusion A standardised physiotherapy assessment package for CYP with asthma and/or DB across the NHS was successfully developed and disseminated.
