"abstract": "Introduction CPAP treatment remains the primary treatment option for OSA. 1 Large group CPAP set up protocols have shown positive impact on waiting lists.2 The sleep service at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust have implemented the use of locker collection as an alternative to group or face to face (F2F) CPAP initiation.Method 200 patients attended for locker CPAP collection. This involved pre appointment mask triage, assignment of individual locker code via text message, patient information leaflets and link to machine set up and usage video. 200 patients also attended for outpatient set up with a physiologist or physician associate in a 1 hour appointment. Both groups were followed up either by telephone or face to face. CPAP compliance was scored on ≥ 4hrs/night criteria. Non parametric independent difference testing was performed where relevant. Results No significant differences in CPAP usage were found between groups. The groups were similar in age, BMI, ESS and ODI severity ( table 1). Males were predominant in both F2F (64%) and locker groups (69%). There was no difference in usage hours for the compliant patients between groups (F2F: 6.1 [range 4.0–10.0] hrs/night vs Lockers: 5.9 [4.0–9.0] hrs/night).Abstract P47 Table 1Comparison between face to face and locker collection groups. Data is mean and range where applicableConclusion Locker CPAP collection is comparable in terms of CPAP compliance with traditional delivery methods.Locker CPAP can provide a cost effective way to reduce time to treatment and a low contact alternative to group trials without little impact on treatment outcomes.References NICE (2021) Obstructive sleep apnoea/hypopnoea syndrome and obesity hypoventilation syndrome in over 16s. www.nice.org.uk/guidance/ng202 2.Hughes, et al.
