  "abstract": "A 9-year-old girl presented with a 9-week history of persistent coughing. She was HIV-negative, had no prior health issues, no history of asthma or recurrent infections and reported no known contact with tuberculosis. On examination, there were no signs of chronic lung disease, and her lung ventilation was normal on both sides. A chest X-ray (figure 1a, b) revealed a radiodense foreign body in the bronchus intermedius with the shape of a tooth and patchy opacification of the posterior basal segment of the right lower lobe. The right middle lobe was not collapsed. The girl recalled that, 9 weeks earlier, she might have aspirated a loose tooth while laughing.",
