  "abstract": "Background The project was an educational program dedicated to affectivity and sexuality, designed for secondary school students, and was conducted with second- and third-year classes at the ‘De Viti De Marco’ Technological Institute in Triggiano (BA) during 2025.Materials and Methods Fifteen classes were involved: eight second- and seven third-year classes, for a total of 361 students. We conducted three two-hour sessions for each class, for a total of 90 hours.The overall objectives were to promote students’ psychological and physical well-being and raise their awareness of emotional, sexual, and digital issues.Educational tools were provided to understand and manage their emotional and sexual development; we raised students’ awareness of the importance of gender diversity and identity development, educating them about online safety, and preventing risks related to sexting and sexually transmitted diseases; and we promoted an inclusive understanding of sexuality, with a particular focus on disabilities.An educational comic book was distributed in print and online, providing information on the topics covered, and awareness brochures conveyed key messages of the training program, designed to strengthen learning and create a positive connection between students and the project.We conducted interactive lessons with direct student involvement, with discussions led by experts (psychotherapists and sexologists). Practical and interactive activities were conducted, encouraging critical reflection and active peer discussion. A final questionnaire was distributed to assess students’ knowledge.Results 361 students responded to the questionnaire. Participants were between 15 and 17 years old, 39.6% female and 60.4% male. The results, in summary, are: 10.25% believe that the timing of physical changes during adolescence is the same for everyone. 21.9% believe that penis size increases sexual pleasure. 34.9% believe that pain during first sexual intercourse is abnormal. 39.9% believe that a person’s identity is not built by comparing themselves to others. 23.3% do not know whether a person’s gender identity coincides with their biological sex. 35% are unaware or do not consider the stereotype to be a rigid opinion. 45.7% are unaware of the existence of medications that prevent people living with HIV from infecting others. Finally, 21.3% believe it is possible to share sexually explicit photos/videos online without consent.Conclusions These data confirm the need for education on affectivity and sexuality in high schools. Clear, scientifically sound information and a space for guided discussion can help students develop greater awareness, respect, and responsibility in relationships, both in real life and online.",
