  "abstract": "In September 2025, the WHO announced that due to a sustained decline in cases, and a greater understanding of transmission and prevention strategies, mpox was no longer a public health emergency of international concern. 1 Since the 2022 international outbreak, mpox epidemiology has evolved. Newly identified subclades have caused renewed and persistent transmission across the African continent, with regional variation in global incidence.",
