  "abstract": "In spine fixation surgery, patients frequently suffer severe postoperative pain for several days. 1 For decades, opioids have been the dominant pain therapy despite their side effects and addictive properties. Poor postoperative pain control prevents early mobilization and recovery, resulting in worse clinical outcomes, higher costs, and extended hospital stays.2 Local anesthetics are increasingly used to reduce opioids and promote enhanced recovery, but work too short for spine fixation procedures.3",
