  "abstract": "A fascial plane block is an adjunct to general or spinal anesthesia that involves the ultrasound-guided injection of large volumes of local anesthetic between deep epimyseal and aponeurotic connective tissue layers in the thorax, abdomen, and back, that is frequently used to treat acute postoperative and chronic myofascial pain.1 2 The principal advantages of the fascial plane block are the provision of extended analgesia compared with systemic opioid therapy and a reduced risk of neurological damage because needle-nerve contact is avoided.3 4",
