MR scan of brain showed extensive bilateral and symmetric cortical and thalamic fluid-attenuated inversion recovery hyperintense signals and diffusion restriction. How should clinicians address the prognosis of such cases? Postmortem findings from this case provide new insights in pathophysiology.",
