"abstract": "It’s not just beans, beans that are good for the heart, as two new studies lauded a step-change in cardiovascular health. Were these to translate to cerebrovascular success these could be very exciting indeed. The first is an anti-hypertensive, baxdrostat, that saw a mean 14.5 mmHg drop in ‘treatment resistant’ raised blood pressure (BP) after 12 weeks, in a randomised placebo-controlled study of 796 people. When corrected for placebo response the seated systolic BP drop was 8.7 (low dose) and 9.8 mmHg (high dose). The drug is an aldosterone synthase inhibitor, and works by manipulating regulation; hyperkalaemia was seen in 14 people.",
