  "abstract": "Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) is a relatively rare type of stroke (0.5% of all strokes), with a prevalence of 5 per million people. 1 It predominantly affects younger age groups, particularly reproductive-aged women who are pregnant or using oral contraception. The most common presenting symptoms are headache, focal neurological deficits, and encephalopathy.1 Most centers use MRI and magnetic resonance venography for diagnosis, although CT and CT venography are increasingly employed.1 When treated in the acute phase with anticoagulation, 81% of women and 71% of men achieve complete recovery.2 Long-term outcomes are worse in male patients, those who are older than 37, or those who have early intracerebral hemorrhage, cancer, or central nervous system infection.3",
