"abstract": "Introduction Carotid artery stenosis is a serious vascular condition that can lead to ischemic stroke, accounting for approximately 20% of all stroke cases. It is estimated that between 10% and 15% of patients with severe carotid stenosis will suffer a stroke within the next five years if left untreated. In this context, the morphology of the carotid plaque plays a critical role in determining the success of stent deployment, as complex and heterogeneous plaques are associated with a higher risk of complications such as embolization or restenosis.Aim of Study To investigate the correlation between carotid plaque characteristics observed on Doppler ultrasound and those identified using intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), with the goal of informing clinical decision-making regarding carotid stenting.Method We reviewed the cases of 10 patients with carotid artery stenosis who underwent a range of diagnostic imaging modalities, including Doppler ultrasound, computed tomography angiography (CTA), magnetic resonance angiography (MRA), and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS). These techniques were used to assess plaque characteristics. Results These techniques were used to assess plaque characteristics. The imaging findings guided clinical decision-making during stent placement, optimizing treatment outcomes and improving the precision of therapeutic strategy selection. Conclusion Doppler ultrasound remains the first-line modality for carotid artery screening due to its accessibility. However in stenting procedure both MRA and CTA provides detailed assessment of plaque morphology, enabling more accurate stent selection and potentially improving procedural outcomes an IVUS provides information in real time.Conflict of Interest No",
