"abstract": "Introduction Transverse sinus stenosis may cause pulsatile tinnitus (PT), intracranial hypertension (IIH) and spontaneous cerebro spinal fluid (CSF)-leaks. PT can significantly impact patients’ quality of life.Since 2002, off-label use of common carotid stents represents a well-established approach to venous sinus reconstruction. A meta-analysis (Schartz et al. 2024) evaluated 616 patients treated with venous sinus stenting (VSS) for PT. The study reported symptom relief in 91.7% and complete resolution in 88.6%. In PT and IIH patients recurrence rates were reported 2.0% and 10.6%, respectively.Aim of Study To evaluate a new low-profile braided self-expanding stent for the treatment of pulsatile tinnitus.Method SiREX® Stent for the treatment of pulsatile tinnitus due to SymptOmatic Lateral VEnous sinus stenosis -RESOLVE- is a prospective, single-arm, multicentric, international, interventional pivotal clinical investigation enrolling 78 patients treated with SiREX under the Medical Device Regulation (MDR). SiREX is a single layer braided stent made of DFT Wire (NiTi/Pt). The purpose of the study is to assess the efficacy, safety and the clinical benefit of the SiREX stent for the treatment of PT due to transverse sinus stenosis. Results The primary efficacy and clinical endpoints are the disappearance of pulsatile tinnitus at 90 days and stent patency at 90 days on venous cerebral angiography. Conclusion The RESOLVE study will evaluate the SiREX stent for the treatment for PT caused by lateral sinus stenosis. This investigation may provide valuable insights into a new approach for managing this debilitating condition, potentially offering a dedicated solution for patients who currently depend on off-label carotid stents.Conflict of Interest Yes Hannes Nordmeyer received speaker Honoraria from Acandis",
