  "abstract": "Objectives Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic inflammatory disease with variable clinical presentations and laboratory profiles. The aim of this study was to characterize demographic, clinical, and laboratory features of patients with SLE followed at our hospital, providing a descriptive overview of disease manifestations in this cohort.Methods We conducted a retrospective observational study including all patients fulfilling the 2019 EULAR/ACR classification criteria for SLE which had a laboratory study performed in 2024. Demographic data, disease duration, clinical manifestations and autoantibody profiles were collected from medical records.Results A total of 55 patients were included, 48 were female (87.2%), with a mean age of 46.3 ± 15.1 and disease duration of 11.8 ± 8.7 years. The mean age at presentation was 34.8 ±14.0. The follow up was made mainly by internists (61.8%). The most frequent clinical manifestations were musculoskeletal involvement (80%) and acute cutaneous lupus (34,5%). Proteinuria was observed in 18 patients (32.7%), 10 of which presented lupus nephritis class III or IV. Leukopenia was the most common hematologic manifestation, seen in 18 patients (32.7%). Regarding serological features, antinuclear antibodies were positive in 46 patients (83.6%), with AC-1 nuclear homogeneous pattern in 23 (41.8%) and AC – 4,5,31 nuclear speckled in 14 (25,5%). Anti-dsDNA was positive in 41 patients (74,5%) during follow up, 16 (29.1%) maintain this positivity. Anti-Ro/SSA was the second most relevant antibody found in 40 patients (72.7%), followed by RNP in 20 (36.4%), anti-La/SSB in 18 (32.7%), anti-Sm in 15 (27.3%), anti-histones in 14 (25.5%), anti-nucleossomes in 10 (18.2%) and anti-2 β2glycoprotein in 9 (16.4%). Hypocomplementemia with C3 and C4 consumption was observed in 15 patients (27.3%).Conclusions This cohort demonstrates the typical female predominance and heterogeneous spectrum of clinical and serological features of SLE. Musculoskeletal and mucocutaneous features predominate, alongside significant rates of renal and hematologic involvement. The high frequency of autoantibody positivity reinforces their diagnostic value. Distinct from prior reports, nuclear homogeneous pattern predominated, likely reflecting increased disease activity with dsDNA positivity. The characterization of local patient populations provides valuable insights into disease patterns and supports the development of context-specific monitoring strategies in clinical practice.",
