"abstract": "Introduction Scleroderma skin patient-reported outcome (SSPRO) was developed to assess the skin-related quality of life in Systemic sclerosis (SSc) patients over past 4 weeks. The SSPRO questionnaire has been developed in English. However, there is no Thai version. To use the questionnaire in Thai SSc patients, the SSPRO questionnaire’s translation into Thai is required. We aim to translate and culturally adapt the SSPRO and assess its validity and reliability in Thai.Material and Methods SSPRO consisted of 18 questions about how SSc affected the patient’s skin and how the skin problems affected the patient’s feeling and daily life activity. It was translated into Thai and validated. Thirty SSc patients completed the translated questionnaire twice, with a one-week interval. Intraclass correlation (ICC) was used for test-retest reliability, and Spearman correlation was used to test the reliability of the associated clinical parameters and the SSPRO.Results In the validity assessment, 17 out of 18 SSPRO items demonstrated statistically significant correlations with the modified Rodnan Skin Score (mRSS), with Spearman’s rho values ranging from 0.202 to 0.784. These findings suggest that higher SSPRO scores are associated with greater severity of skin thickening. Reliability analysis demonstrated a high degree of consistency between the two testing sessions for each item of the SSPRO, as reflected by ICC values ranging from 0.945 to 0.991.Conclusions The findings of this study support the validity of the Thai version of the SSPRO as an effective instrument for evaluating skin-related quality of life in patients with SSc. The translated version also demonstrated excellent reliability, as evidenced by high ICCs across two testing sessions.",
