"abstract": "Introduction Social cognition is frequently impaired in brain tumour patients. This has a major negative impact on their quality of life. Accordingly, identifying and treating poor social cognition in patients with brain tumours has become increasingly important as neuro-oncology patients live longer. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommends that all brain tumour patients undergo neuropsychology testing. We audited whether the NICE recommendations were met at a regional Neuro-oncology service. Methods We used ICD-10 codes to identify patients attending a regional Neuro-oncology service who had been diagnosed with either a supratentorial primary brain tumour or meningioma after 5 th October 2023. We collected data from their electronic patient records on tumour diagnosis, disease course and whether neuropsychology testing was performed. Results Our search revealed 771 patients. To date, 139 records have been analysed. 101 patients were excluded due to reasons including duplications or errors in coding. Of the remaining 38 patients with either a supratentorial tumours or meningiomas, only 8 patients had undergone neuropsychology testing. Conclusion Greater efforts are needed to ensure that patients with brain tumours or meningiomas have neuropsychology testing. This is a necessary precursor for improved management of social cognitive dysfunction.haoxuanhli@outlook.com",
