  "abstract": "Background ABN (Association of British Neurologists) has guideline for neurology active referral management (RM) which is to optimise patient management by directing referrals to the most appropriate pathway, thus enhancing timeliness, effectiveness and appropriateness for each patient.Methods and results At Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, GPs initiates electronic referrals, which are reviewed by a Consultant Neurologist, then triaged to: Face to Face appointment, telephone/video consultation or Returned to Referrer with specialist advice. This service privdes rapid consultant led feedback to primary care referrers and allows the local population to access neurology services in a timely manner. We have audited outcomes of 200 patients who were referred from primary care between July, 2023 to May, 2024 using NUH electronic patient record EPR and national e-referral service (ERS). The results are still pending, however it’s expected to be produced by end of January 2025.Conclusion The Neurology service in Queen’s Medical Centre (NUH) has shown significant improvement in active referral management aligning with ABN guidance.
