"abstract": "Objective This retrospective cohort analysis of the MarketScan claims database compared the proportion of persistent patients between cohorts receiving rimegepant and oral triptans in the US.Methods Adults diagnosed with migraine were included who were new users of rimegepant or oral triptans with a minimum of 12 months follow up. Index date was defined as date of initial prescription (1 March 2020 to 30 June, 2023). Persistence was defined as the proportion of patients with a repeat prescription of the index treatment within 12 months. To address confounding, 1:1 propensity score matching was used. Results After matching, baseline characteristics were similar (standardised difference < 0.1) in the rimegepant and triptan cohorts (n=9909 patients per cohort). Significantly more patients were persistent in the rimegepant cohort than the triptan cohort (75.8% and 53.5% respectively; OR 2.72, 95% Cl 2.56, 2.90, p< 0.001). Similar results were seen in subgroup analyses of specific triptans (rizatriptan and sumatriptan) and in chronic migraine patients. Conclusions Patients from the rimegepant cohort were more likely to be persistent than patients in the triptan cohort, regardless of triptan taken or chronic migraine status. These results may reflect a better response and/or tolerability of rimegepant treatment compared to oral triptans.grant.oneil@pfizer.com",
