"abstract": "The opioid crisis is a significant public health issue that has led to a rising number of overdose deaths over the past 25 years. Cue-induced drug craving leads to a high risk of relapse, which urged us to develop novel biomarkers of craving and effective interventions for opioid use disorder (OUD). Previous intervention studies have typically targeted a single brain region, without considering the role of circuits involved in multiple functions. Brain connectivity, capturing the coordinated interactions among cortical regions that regulate behavioural and cognitive functions, offers new opportunities to derive biomarkers and therapeutic targets for intervention in addiction. 1 Neuroimaging evidence has indicated that drug craving is closely linked to functional connectivity within the frontoparietal network (FPN).2 Nevertheless, circuit-specific neuromodulation of the FPN through novel neuroscience-based technologies in OUD remains poorly investigated.",
