"abstract": "Training of the specialist genomics workforce has traditionally relied on workplace-based, face-to-face delivery. Increasing service demands and centralisation of laboratory services challenge the sustainability of this model. The Genomics Training Academy (GTAC) was established to harness technology-enhanced learning (TEL) to deliver scalable, standardised training. Informed by adult learning theory (andragogy), TEL resources are designed to be interactive, engaging, and grounded in authentic scenarios to support real-world application.Subject matter experts (SMEs) provide essential disciplinary expertise but are often novice in creating asynchronous, self-directed digital content. To address this, we developed a pipeline to guide SMEs in the design, development, and delivery of robust TEL resources. The process followed an iterative co-design model, with SMEs progressing through content mapping, storyboarding, and development, alongside continuous refinement supported by experts in health professions education, instructional design, and TEL.This structured approach ensures resources remain rigorous, clinically relevant, and aligned with NHS practice while reflecting evidence-based andragogy. Beyond producing high-quality, sustainable online learning, the pipeline also supports SME development as health professions educators. GTAC therefore addresses workforce training needs while simultaneously building educator capacity, supporting the genomic workforce, the wider NHS, and ultimately patient care.",
