  "abstract": "NHS England’s Genomics Programme, working with the Genomics Clinical Reference Group, undertook a review of the 17 regional NHS Clinical Genetics Services. This identified clear challenges that need to be addressed for the Service to continue to provide high quality care for patients. The current NHS Service Specification for Clinical Genetics Services was published in 2013 and therefore requires updating to accurately reflect the current and future service. However, the challenges will not be addressed by updating the Service Specification alone. Therefore, a Clinical Genomics Service Transformation Work Programme has been initiated to look at all aspects of the Service and understand what actions are required to drive improvements. The Transformation Work Programme is supported by the Genomics Clinical Reference Group and a specific working group has been established to take this forward. Through a series of workshops that commenced in May this year, the Working Group have used the ‘A3 problem solving method’ to develop and prioritise 5 key ‘problem statements’ and undertaken a root cause analysis, supporting the development of an action plan. An update on the Clinical Genomics Transformation Programme will be presented, on behalf of NHS England’s Genomics Programme and the Working Group.",
