  "abstract": "Training in cardiac imaging requires exposure to a range of different techniques, diagnoses and teaching to become an independent practitioner and reporter. While the cardiology training programme aims to provide much of this experience, cardiac imaging fellowships can be a way to refine skills and to increase breadth of exposure and case volumes. Following the introduction of the 2022 cardiology curriculum, cardiology trainees are now mandated to pursue general internal medicine alongside cardiology training which may reduce exposure to subspecialty training. The need for additional fellowships is likely to increase as a result.",
