  "abstract": "Following reports of prescription errors in anti-thrombotic therapy in NSTEMI patients within Tunbridge Wells Hospital’s (TWH) Emergency Department (ED), this project was designed to audit existing practice and implement improvements in the initial management of NSTEMI.Data on anti-thrombotic management in ED for 72 NSTEMI patients over a period of 5 months (April 2024 – Nov 2024) were collected. Prescription data on orders and drug administration were of emphasis. Results show 13% of the cases had incorrect prescriptions; and out of those, 78% led to incorrect medications being given to patients. This demonstrated a lack of awareness of correct NSTEMI management and that prescription errors were likely to lead to drug errors if prescribed incorrectly, compromising patient safety greatly. The most common prescription error was the prescription of fondaparinux with a DOAC.To improve awareness,These findings were presented to the medical department during a Grand Round which included medical consultants, resident doctors, and ACPs.Furthermore, a cardiology consultant provided an educational session for the medical department highlighting the importance of proper anti-thrombotic management in NSTEMI alongside current evidence.Posters were placed in resus and ED majors to raise awareness (including bleeps for the cardiology team).A re-audit between May to June 2025 in 25 patients showed 100% cases of proper anti-thrombotic management of NSTEMI in ED. Cardiology advice had been sought appropriately in complex situations (DAPT, co-existing anticoagulants, high bleeding risk).This project reveals that live-interactive methods of raising awareness and posters/reminders are effective in improving compliance with clinical guidelines. Given the success of these interventions, implementing a local ACS protocol and embedding regular teaching sessions could help sustain these improvements.",
