  "abstract": "Introduction The aim of this survey was to gain an understanding of the evolving landscape of drug coated balloon (DCB) use in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) across Ireland.Methods Using direct contact by email or text message, we invited as many practicing interventional cardiologists across the island of Ireland as possible. The survey consisted of 14 questions and the results were collated using the ‘Microsoft Forms’ platform over a 3-week period beginning March 27th, 2025.Results A total of 94 consultants and 10 fellows were invited to participate with 60 responses obtained (54 consultants, 6 fellows), giving a survey response rate of 58%. Responses were obtained from 19 different hospitals across Ireland ( figure 1). There was strong agreement that a DCB strategy was suitable for certain lesion subtypes: in-stent restenosis (98%), small vessel disease (92%), and bifurcation (small or main branch) (70%). However, less respondents felt chronic total occlusion (32%), ACS (17%) or de novo any vessel size (13%) lesion subsets were indications they would consider a DCB based PCI strategy (figure 2). The biggest factor that influences which DCB to use was availability at their centre (72%). Most respondents (72%) felt there was no meaningful difference in clinical outcomes between DCB subtypes. Most respondents reported DAPT duration for CCS patients treated with DCB as either 3 months (47%) or 6 months (37%). Rates of intravascular imaging use among respondents was high, with almost half of respondents (48%) using intravascular imaging in >50% of their total PCI cases. Just 1 respondent reported not using any intravascular imaging, and a further 8 respondents (13%) reported using intravascular imaging in <10% of their cases.Summary There has been broad adoption of DCB use across Ireland for in-stent restenosis and small vessel disease coronary lesions, but there remains variation in clinical practice with regards to treating other lesion subsets.Abstract 58 Figure 1Map of Ireland reflecting location of hospitals represented in the ‘DETECT’ surveyAbstract 58 Figure 2Summary of main findings from the ‘DETECT’ survey",
