  "abstract": "We read with great interest the article by Coté et al titled ‘Sphincterotomy for biliary sphincter of Oddi disorder and idiopathic acute recurrent pancreatitis: the RESPOnD longitudinal cohort’ published in Gut.1 The study aimed to measure the benefit of sphincterotomy for suspected sphincter of Oddi disorder (SOD) and provided valuable insights into the management of this contentious condition. While the study offers significant contributions to the field, we would like to raise some concerns and discuss potential areas for further investigation.",
