  "abstract": "The demand for gastroenterology services across Europe has increased significantly over the past two decades. This rise has been driven by an ageing population, increasing incidence of gastrointestinal cancers, inflammatory bowel disease and chronic liver conditions, alongside expanded indications for diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. 1–5 As the specialty evolves in complexity and scope, the quality and consistency of postgraduate training in gastroenterology have become critical determinants of healthcare outcomes. Yet, despite efforts at European harmonisation, training structures remain highly variable, reflecting national regulatory frameworks, economic resources and academic traditions.6",
