  "abstract": "Threadworm (Enterobius vermicularis) infection is a common parasitic gastrointestinal (GI) infestation particularly in children, household contacts and institutional settings.1 Prevalence rates are undefined; however, estimates suggest that 20–30% of children under 11 years may be affected.1 Diagnosis is typically via perianal adhesive tape test, though organisms can be observed during paediatric colonoscopy. Treatment involves a single dose of anthelmintic medication.2",
