The Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (FSRH) recommends discussing and offering pain relief for IUD insertions to all women.1 2 The use of local anaesthesia (LA) is one of the ways to avoid or manage pain during IUD insertion. However, not all clinicians routinely offer LA for IUD insertions.",
