  "abstract": "As we enter July, you may have seen the exciting news that the Emergency Medicine Journal is set to launch its companion, open access journal—EMJ Advances. Our advertisement for an Editor-in-Chief of the new journal has recently closed. This initiative has huge potential to enhance our ability to drive forward emergency care, and the model of having an open access journal alongside the original has worked extremely well for many other medical journals. It will allow us to publish more material. It will also be an important step in our mission to improve author and reader experience and to enhance our impact in emergency care.",
