  "abstract": "Arguably the most predictable aspect of emergency medicine is the unpredictability. In this month’s EMJ, we have a range of papers which illustrate the range of presentations we see and which can perhaps help us be better prepared for this variability. Our authors have provided us with evidence for clinical and operational care delivery, so that even if we cannot predict what comes through the door, we will not be surprised—or unprepared.",
