  "abstract": "Introduction Older adults account for approximately 20% of all ED visits and often present with complex needs, including high rates of frailty. They often experience poor outcomes post-visit, necessitating a tailored management approach. Despite growing awareness and advancements in Geriatric Emergency Medicine, there remains a need to better align care strategies with the outcomes that matter to older patients. This study aimed to summarise international qualitative research findings related to older adults’ ED care priorities and their experiences related to or following an ED visit, to identify outcomes that are valued by older adults.Methods A rapid qualitative evidence synthesis (QES) was conducted. A systematic electronic database search was performed in Scopus, CINAHL, ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Global, from 2003 to present day. English language peer-reviewed papers reporting primary qualitative research on older adults’ (aged 65 years +) ED care priorities, or their experiences related to or following an ED visit were included. A best-fit framework approach was used to analyse and synthesise the evidence.Results Out of 7,893 screened papers, 34 were included. Key outcomes emphasized by older adults included the need for minimal wait times and clear communication regarding wait status, prompt and holistic assessments addressing both physical and mental health, effective pain management, reassurance, dignity, privacy, safety, and comfort during visits. They valued obtaining a diagnosis, symptom management with clear expectations for symptom resolution, family involvement in decision-making, consistent and understandable information throughout the ED experience, and continuity of care post-discharge to support independence and functional recovery.Conclusion Across diverse international settings, older adults consistently identify similar priorities for their ED care, highlighting the necessity for tailored interventions that align with their valued outcomes. These findings also highlight important outcomes for the development and evaluation of interventions for older adults in the ED setting. *presenting author",
