"abstract": "As the UK experiences an extraordinary spell of heat this summer, driving many of us indoors, I found myself turning to the upcoming print edition to write this Epistle. I was immediately struck by the articles. They are highly relevant, focusing on familiar but challenging clinical scenarios such as sepsis, sudden unexpected collapse, safeguarding, suspected poisoning and unusual rashes. A unifying thread, unsurprisingly is patient and parental voices reminding us that thorough history taking and partnership with families remains central to good paediatric care.",
