  "abstract": "As a public health practitioner, you are considering how public health interventions might encourage individuals and families to reduce their salt intake to improve blood pressure among local communities and prevent cardiovascular diseases. You are aware that community-based education programmes are available and you are particularly interested in whether these programmes, delivered through a trusted setting like schools, can improve salt intake behaviours. You find a cluster-randomised controlled trial (cluster-RCT) that evaluates a school-based education programme that aims to reduce salt intake in children and their families in China. 1 The trial found that the mean effect on salt intake for the intervention group versus the control group was −1.9 g/day (95% CI −2.6 to −1.3 g/day) in children and −2.9 g/day (95% CI −3.7 to −2.2 g/day) in adults.",
