"abstract": "This study examined the characteristic classification of life-goal setting and its associated support strategies. A postal survey was conducted with 114 rehabilitation professionals. They reported demographic data of their most recent cancer survivor and evaluated the goal setting using the Reengagement Life Goal Assessment Tool for Cancer Survivors (ReGAT-C). Hierarchical cluster analysis was performed, and clusters were compared statistically. Within each cluster, correlations between the total ReGAT-C score and each item score, as well as item difficulties were analyzed to identify key support areas. As a result, three clusters emerged: (1) survivors with advanced cancer, mild to moderate performance status (PS), and low quality of goal setting; (2) survivors with advanced cancer, poor PS, but high quality of goal setting; and (3) survivors with early-stage cancer, good PS, and high quality of goal setting. In cluster (1), collaboration and clinical reasoning; in cluster (2), adjustment of goals; and in cluster (3), support focusing on achievement and satisfaction were beneficial. These findings provide a basis for developing more individualized goal setting support.",
