"abstract": "Background Harmony Circles have evolved from a project called ‘Harmony in Health’, which has shown that participants gain a positive sense of well-being through involvement in practical activities that connect mind, body and heart. Harmony means different things to different people but is essentially a feeling of contentment. It is being ‘in tune’, recognising our differences but at the same time connecting with positive feelings. In a hospice setting, can Harmony Circles help us on our journey of compassionate care?Aims To introduce a new way of staff stepping away from their busy jobs for one hour of gentle, communal activities, connecting with each other, exploring something new for their wellbeing through practical involvement. Methods Members from different departments offered their skills and personal interests to facilitate the activities in the circle. Results Staff took part in Harmony Circles that featured activities such as dancing, playing, singing, drumming, listening to music, cooking together, sharing stories, and drawing. Over the past 14 months, we explored the following themes:Harmony movement in the hospice.Adaptation.Diversity in Harmony.Harmony in Health wellbeing workshop.Diversity, making fruit salad together.Sleep for Harmony.Winter warming recipes.Experience the benefits of breathing freely.Find your balance: gut health and wellbeing.Cultivating community through art.Harmony Circles are now embedded within the clinical governance structure of the organisation. Conclusions Introducing Harmony Circles in a hospice can serve as a positive framework that fosters creative collaboration and enhances workplace wellbeing. A circle is inclusive. It is a shape of harmony and can expand or contract as needed. A Harmony Circle may help even if you are not feeling harmonious at all. People in the circle can offer support – sometimes just by simply being there, together.",
