  "abstract": "Introduction With many pharmacotherapies now available for insomnia disorder, insights into the preferences of patients are important to support patient-centric treatment decision-making. The recent PAtient preferences stUdy in inSomnia (PAUSe) investigated preferences for insomnia treatment among patients enrolled in phase III clinical trials of the dual orexin receptor antagonist daridorexant. The replication study PAUSe 2.0 extended this study to assess preferences among real-world patients with insomnia. This sub-analysis of PAUSe 2.0 looked at treatment preferences in people with insomnia in the UK.Methods A discrete choice experiment (DCE) was administered to UK-based non-clinical trial participants reporting symptoms of insomnia disorder who were recruited via an online patient panel. Participants completed a randomly assigned block of 12 choice tasks. Within each task, participants chose between two mutually exclusive hypothetical insomnia treatment alternatives, described by different levels of seven attributes. A participant subset received a DCE with an opt-out (‘no treatment’) alternative. A mixed logit model was used to obtain marginal utilities from which relative attribute importance (RAI) values were derived.Results 150 UK-based patient panel members participated in the study. The mean age was 49.5 years, and 83.3% of participants were female. Most participants reported taking at least 30 minutes to fall asleep (95.3%) and getting ≤5 hours of sleep per night (64.0%). A negative constant for the opt-out alternative (p<0.001) indicated that participants tended to prefer treatment over no treatment. The most important drivers of treatment preferences were improved daytime functioning (RAI 33.87% for improvement from difficulty functioning to fully functioning) and avoidance of withdrawal effects (RAI 28.00% for no withdrawal rather than severe withdrawal) (table 1).Discussion Patient preferences in the treatment of insomnia were strongly driven by the desire to improve daytime functioning and avoid medication withdrawal effects.Abstract P5 Table 1Drivers of treatment preferences",
