  "abstract": "Background Significant disparities persist in maternal and neonatal outcomes, including preterm birth, for ethnic minority and socio-economically disadvantaged groups. A critical driver is the underrepresentation of minority population groups in research and genomic databases. Effective collaboration between healthcare and the public, including tailored engagement with diverse communities, is therefore key to reducing health disparities and increasing equitable access, experience and outcomes. To address this, a unique collaboration of NHS Trusts and Services, health charities and the award-winning Mosaic Community Trust (MCT) formed a grassroots partnership. This organisation seeks to empower women from socially marginalised and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, enabling them to participate in community decision-making and to access mainstream services. This project aimed to transcend traditional hospital outreach by embedding itself within the community.Methods This collaboration co-designed, co-produced and co-facilitated an ongoing series of six educational workshops on pregnancy health and genomics. Each session integrated themes of health literacy, research participation, genomic awareness and community advocacy. Pre- and post-workshop questionnaires were employed to gauge baseline knowledge and measure learning outcomes. Participant feedback was iteratively used to shape subsequent workshops. ( Figure 1)Results 50 participants primarily from Middle Eastern, North African, East African, and South Asian backgrounds attended the first three workshops. Quantitative evaluation demonstrated significant improvements in understanding:85% improved knowledge of preterm birth causes/risks (Workshop 1).80% increased awareness of genetic influences on pregnancy (Workshop 2).85% better understood hyperemesis gravidarum causes (Workshop 3).80% expressed increased willingness to consider participating in genomic research.Conclusion This multi-stakeholder collaborative model created a sustainable, adaptable framework for equitable public engagement. The co-created, co-led and iterative feedback approach to the workshops series improved how health and research was communicated with diverse communities while building an educational framework that is accessible, sustainable, shareable and reproducible by other services within community settings.
