  "abstract": "Humans have radically changed the climate and ecosystems—there has been a fivefold increase in climate-related events over the past 50 years. Drought affects 30% more land area annually. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) records indicate the years 2014 to 2023 were the hottest on record, and storms, fires, drought and flooding have increased in number and intensity, as has biodiversity loss.1 This has had a devastating impact on children’s health and well-being, particularly African children.2 3",
