  "abstract": "A pregnant woman in her mid 20s, gravida 5, para 2, with two living children and two abortions presented to our emergency room for a seizure episode at 10+6 weeks of gestation. She had a history of fever, headache and cough with expectoration for 1 week before the seizure. She had no known comorbidities and was not a known case of seizure disorder prior to the incident. Her presentation of seizures was reportedly generalised tonic-clonic in nature, associated with jaw clenching and loss of consciousness lasting a total of 15 min, followed by a spell of postictal confusion for 30 min. There was no postictal weakness, and no seizure-like episode has been noticed since. She was initially taken to her local hospital, where midazolam was administered intravenously. She was subsequently referred to a higher district centre for further evaluation, where she was started on levetiracetam. On MRI of the brain, a ring-enhancing lesion was identified in the right parietal lobe. This prompted an immediate referral to our tertiary care centre for assessment and management.",
