  "abstract": "A primigravida in her early 30s underwent a lower-segment caesarean section for foetal distress. She had no significant prior medical or surgical history. On postoperative day 7, she presented with erythema and a painful ulcer at the surgical site. She had no fever, systemic symptoms or dermatological lesions during pregnancy. Examination revealed a shallow ulcer measuring 35×20 cm over the lower abdomen, with a slough-covered base, violaceous undermined margins, blistering and satellite pustules ( figure 1A). Two bullous lesions with central dusky discolouration were also noted on the left forearm (figure 1B,C).",
