The implication is that AI is not only inevitable but a necessity, with advantages that must be seized on and potential harms only mitigated.3 This concept of AI being the panacea for all our problems is termed “AI futurism.”3 Within this framework, fundamental questions like whether this technology is needed or whether its benefits outweigh its risks are rarely asked.",
