  "abstract": "Despite 31 years of international Conference of the Parties (COP) negotiations to tackle climate change, greenhouse gas emissions have continued to rise—by 1.1% last year alone.1 Repeated warnings—including that from the 2009 Lancet Commission that climate change was “the greatest global health threat of the 21st Century”2—have been ignored, and the predicted escalating impacts on disease are now evident.3 Socioeconomic factors, however, are the key determinants of health,4 and a new report, drawing on judgment from more than 60 climate experts, shows that the impacts of climate change on these factors have been both underestimated and ignored.5",
