  "abstract": "Ruth Butler (née Heinsheimer) was born in Israel in 1945. She moved to London with her parents, Siegfried and Liesel, at the age of 1 and grew up above her father’s GP surgery. Ruth was head girl at Haberdashers Aske’s School in Ealing before attending Birmingham University to study medicine in 1963. She worked at both the Sorrento and New Maternity Hospital before moving back to Chiswick, west London, in 1970, where she went into general practice partnership with her father.",
