  "abstract": "Moss and colleagues discuss the growing problem of betel nut (also known as areca nut) consumption among children—a culturally accepted habit with consequences that are often overlooked yet serious.1 India, the largest producer and consumer of betel nut, sees major use among minors, which is supported by packaging that is appealing to children. As dentists in India, we frequently encounter oral lesions associated with chewing betel nut, which elevate the risk of oropharyngeal cancers and potentially malignant disorders like oral submucous fibrosis (OSF).2",
