  "abstract": "Rupert Courtenay-Evans was born in Kensington, London, in 1938 and was educated at the Hall prep school in Hampstead and then Charterhouse. He studied medicine at Trinity College, Cambridge, and did his clinical years at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. Rupert learnt his trade as a house surgeon in Southend, then did pathology back at Barts and neurology at Addenbrooke’s, before research at the Brompton, and then back to Addenbrooke’s as a senior registrar.",
