  "abstract": "The 2019 NHS long term plan included a commitment to integrate smoking cessation support into hospital care.1 Starting in 2019, services began to be rolled out for pregnant women, as well as inpatients in mental health and acute care settings. Initially progress was hampered by the pandemic, but by March 2025 95% of services were in place and supported over 160 000 people in the preceding 12 months.23",
