"abstract": "I’m really unsure on when it dawned that things were not right. Talk of me having a limp and several visits to the GP then to see a consultant, all in a few weeks. Then, I was whisked away on a short family holiday in early winter to Blackpool…this was definitely not usual. There were concerned and worried looks on my parents’ faces, and my mam was chain smoking and hitting the gin. I remember happily walking but limping along the pier, where there were lots of slot machines and bright lights. You can’t beat Blackpool illuminations to cheer you up: candy floss and kiss me quick hats, indeed, anything I wanted.",
